there is a darkness in everyone of us, hiding at the depths of our soul. slowly biding its time, waiting at the edges of our conscience. slithering, hiding at every dark crevasse that it can find, disguising itself until how we never knew its actually there. but it is, hiding away beyond the peripheries of our vision. you can see it if you look hard enough. in the shadows, in the splinter of your mind's eye, it is there. bidding its time, until when we are at our weakest. at the point where our resolve is weak, where all the morales, the norms and rules imposed on us by the multitude of society erode away by a tide of emotion both good or bad. it is then that we are at our weakest. when we release the primordial beast that's been inside us all along. then the darkest unleashes itself with resplendent glory. we lose all knowledge of what happens next. or maybe we just tell ourselves that, to convince ourselves that we were not in control of ourselves when we comitted whatever transgression that would follow. Ask any muderer, any drunk. they've felt the rush, the blackness obscuring their vision whenever they give in to the darkness. Life in the end, becomes a constant struggle against this darkness, the enemy of the civilised world. because in the end, when we remove all semblances of civilisation, when we go rewind a few hundred thousand years of evolution, we find that the reason mankind's survived this long, was because we were the baddest, craziest, bunch of motherfuckers the natural world ever saw.
